Dominique Andiran

IMG_5951A former ski and sailing instructor, Dominique spent the offseason working the vines at the side of his uncle. In 1988, he decided to move to the Gers to give free rein to his passion. 2001 was his first vintage.

Certified organic, Dominique works in the most natural and traditional manner possible. With the moon and the vines as his allies, he does several passes in his vineyards to harvest his grapes at the optimal moment. In the cellar, the whites ferment slowly; for his wine Les Pissenlits sous voile; for his reds he allows some oxygen in to soften the tannins and to increase aromatic extraction.

Dominique has a multitude of grape varieties on the 19 hectares he farms in three communes: Lauraet (clay and limestone), Montréal (brown earth), Vopillon (clay, limestone, gravel).  Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Gros and Petit Manseng, Muscadelle, Chardonnay, Petit Courbu and Sauvignon Gris are the varieties that make up his white wines. Merlot, Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc make up his reds.
