These are the words you’ll find printed on every one of Vincent Caillé’s wine boxes. La Part du Colibri on the label refers to the legend of the hummingbird: if you do the best you can, even if it’s a little bit, you make the world a better place.
A 5th generation winemaker, Vincent’s parcels are spread over a wide area of four towns with three great terroirs (orthogneiss, gabbro and granite) over fourteen kilometers. He started working with his father in 1986 and took over when his father retired in 1992.
With his wife Sylvie, and his two younger brothers, Vincent works 26 hectares. He farms organically and has started incorporating biodynamics with the simple goal of producing great grapes. He believes the harder and better you work in the vineyard, the less you need to do in the cellar.
