Vino Rosso da Tavola NV

The Mattioli family still sell this fresh, fun, rustic little Sangiovese as “vino sfuso” to the locals (roughly 12 of them) in their small town of Terzo la Pieve in Umbria. Collecapretta is the Roman name for the Mattioli’s family’s tiny hamlet and it means “hill of the goats” — hence the goat on the label. Since the 12th century, they’ve been cultivating the rugged southernmost hillsides of Umbria.
