This is a stunning, slightly rustic Beaujolais from Pierre Cotton who tends ~3.5 hectares of various vineyard sites around Odenas and Regnie (Beaujolais, France).
Vinification: 100% Gamay, the grapes are hand-harvested from 70+ year-old vines grown in Corne Verte soils -- a very rare layering of yellow and pink granite, clay, and diorite that is found solely near the winery in Odenas. Semi-carbonic maceration in large concrete tanks before aging in 8 months in used foudres of varying size (14-42 HL). Bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2.
