Manuel & Lorenzo Valenzuela

barrancooscuroA pioneer of natural wines in Spain, Manuel arrived with his family in 1979 because he wanted to leave the big city and live in the countryside. Manual & Lorenzo organically farm their extremely high-altitude vineyards (the summit is 1368 meters above sea level) with low rainfall, no irrigation and poor, schisty soil, which means tremendously low yields and great concentration.

They’re in the mountains of La Contraviesa, with 12 hectares of vineyards, between Sierra Nevada and the Mediterranean Sea. They ferment naturally without any additions or technological tricks.
