Rosé Fox Hill Vineyard 2016

Made with two grapes from Lowell Stone’s Fox Hill Vineyard usually associated with Port wine, Touriga Nacional and Souzã, Evan picks at optimal ripeness, presses directly, and lets the wine ferment naturally without additions or subtractions. He also allows it to undergo malo, a the defining characteristic of a natural wine, and particularly distinctive when it come to rosés, because most rosés are rushed to the market as soon as the first fermentation finishes. On the nose, a hint of tangerine zest, dried herbs. In the mouth, it’s texturally generous, but also snappy.
