Holy hell. If you have ever walked through the woods right after a rainstorm, stopping to smell the mushrooms and wild flora that popped up in the damp earth, you might begin to imagine the aromas here. This is the most structured of the three wines, yet is bursting with dark cherry and brambly blackberry fruit. Don't plan on drinking anything for a few days after this wine: the drama of the palate and finish give a catharsis worthy of Aeschylus. An incredible price for Grand Cru Burgundy, let alone one this memorable.
