The Details
Auvergne. 100% Pinot Noir from 30 year old vines. Grapes are hand-harvested, half destemmed and half left whole cluster. The fruit undergoes a semi-carbonic maceration and ferments with wild yeasts in tank, followed by a resting period in old barrel. Unfined, unfiltered, no SO2.
From the importer Louis Dressner: "Neyrou is local dialect for Pinot Noir. These grapes are trained En Lyre [a method that splits the one vine into two separate vines, looking a bit like a wishbone]. The is very low yielding (10hl/ha), giving it exceptional concentration for Pinot."
