The Details
This is a serious and savory rosato, a bottling with some gorgeous salinity followed by a little post-palate heat (check the ABV!) from Giuseppe and Barbara Pusceddu of Meigamma who tend a very small estate of 1.5 hectares in Villasimius, Sardinia, Italy.
Vinification: 100% Cannanou hand-harvested from 14 year-old vines a mere 500m from the sea grown in primarily sandy soils. The grapes are softly pressed with a 12-hour maceration on the skins. An extended élevage (see: the vintage of this cuvée!) in exhausted barrique takes place before being bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2. 13.5-14.5% ABV
