This is a gorgeous, defiant and slightly-orange wine from Michael Gindl who works ten hectares of biodynamic vines in northern Austria.
Tasting Notes: Frosted (Grüner) grape pulp and underripe fuzzy peaches emerge on the nose, followed by a richly white-spiced palate whose finish is long and wild.
Vinification: 100% Grüner Veltliner from Hohenruppersdorf, 30km northeast of Vienna in the Weinviertel. 10 hour maceration on the skins, 8 hour slow press, spontaneous fermentation in wood, aged for 6 months on the lees before bottling.
