This is a juicy, concentrated take on Grignolino from Nadia Verrua who works seven hectares of vines in Monferrato, Asti, Piedmont, Italy.
Tasting Notes: Garnet in the glass, an iridescent delight from Cascina Tavijn that expresses a more concentrated side of Grignolino, a local grape typically known for its florality. It is immensely fresh with hibiscus and redcurrant on the nose, supple light-medium body in the palate with medium-length and chalky tannins. A vibrant, plump red.
Vinification: 100% Grignolino hand-harvested from young vines. The grapes are carbonically macerated (whole-cluster, deprived of oxygen, inside-out fermentation) in stainless steel tank over the course of ten days before a gentle foot-pressing. The wine undergoes a short aging and is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with a minimal addition of SO2. 12.5% ABV
