This is a pristine and elegant white from Alessandro Viola who works seven hectares of vines in and around Alcamo, in the western reaches of Siciliy.
Tasting Notes: Almonds shapeshift into citric marzipan and a wide savory breadth emerges in the palate. This is Sicilian white wine at its apex: complex, salty, summery, with heady length of pome fruit that makes you think of a blood-orange sun melting over a mediterranean horizon.
Vinification: This is 100% Grillo from a 220m elevation vineyard site atop clay soil and overlooking the city of Alcamo. The wine ferments and ages in steel oak for 6 months on its own lees. Unfined and unfiltered. 12.5% ABV
