This is a slightly rich vin de soif from Sébastien Dervieux of Les Vignes de Babass (formerly of Domaine Les Griottes) who now works 2.4 hectares of Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Grolleau in Beaulieu-sur-Layon (Anjou) of France's Loire Valley.
Tasting Notes: Black currants and violets adorned with a touch of baking spice form the bouquet, and the palate is an encompassing of easy-drinking joy. Slight fizz: a wild and quaffable Grolleau from a natty icon.
Vinification: 100% Grolleau hand-harvested from old-vines atop schist and clay bedrock. Unfined, unfiltered with no additional SO2. 12.5% ABV
