The Details

Sky-scraping pink wine. From Bakkanali - a biodynamic producer on Monte Amiata (dormant volcano in Montalcino), this is as special a 'rosato' as they come. The label depicts Makovsky's Arcadia (1899). Grown at 600m, this is 100% Sangiovese. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed and softly pressed after 24 hours on the skins. Spontaneous fermentation and élevage (6-9months) in a combination of stainless steel tank and unlined cement tank. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, minimal (>10ppm) SO2 added. 13.5%ABV. Only 1200 bottles produced.
