The Details
This is a bright and complex red from Xurxo Alba of Bodegas Albamar who works 2.5 hectares of vines in the Salnés Valley of Rias Baixas, Galicia (Northwest Spain).
Tasting Notes: Savory light-to-medium red with fresh forest scrub and mushroom notes. Would do well with a chill due to its vibrant acidity.
Vinification: A blend of Caino Blanco, Espadeiro, and Mencía. The grapes were hand-harvested before undergoing separate spontaneous fermentation - kickstarted by native yeasts - in stainless steel. The wine was then aged for 12 months in neutral French oak barrel before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2. 10.5% ABV
