The Details
This is a from Grégory Leclerc of Chahut et Prodiges who works 6.5 hectares of vines in Amboise, a waterfront town just down river from Vouvray/Montlouis in Touraine, the Central region of the Loire Valley.
Tasting Notes: Bright red fruit aromas give way to a more umami-rich palate, with red shiso and a touch of ginger. A smooth samba with a hip-shaking texture -- delicious!
Vinification: 100% Pinot Noir hand-harvested from vines grown in Clay, Limestone, and Flint soils. The grapes undergo a short, semi-carbonic maceration prior to full spontaneous fermentation in fiberglass tanks. The wine then ages for several months in fiberglass. Unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2.
