About the wine

Their top-wine aside from the Clos Béru. I'm going to copy and paste what Athenaïs wrote on her website for this wine because it encapsulates it better than I could: "The Montserre plot owes its name to the "Serres," a geological formation in the form of dense, superimposed limestone plates. On the surface the ground is strewn with white pebbles. Located at high altitude, at the top of the appellation, the Montserre plot, exposed to the winds on its four sides. It is bordered by a hedge of trees where birds nest and which forms a virtuous ecosystem. The Montserre wines are nervy, dry, powerful, and they express the strength and harshness of nature. 12%ABV

The Region: Burgundy, France

The Burgundy wine region, nestled in the heart of eastern France, is an enchanting tapestry of vine-covered hills, historic villages, and unparalleled terroir. Revered as the holy grail of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Burgundy's wines are celebrated for their purity, finesse, and capacity to express the essence of individual vineyard plots. The region's famed Côte d'Or, divided into the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, is home to some of the world's most coveted vineyards, each named meticulously on its own. From the robust, age-worthy reds of Gevrey-Chambertin to the ethereal and elegant whites of Meursault, Burgundy's terroir-driven wines are a testament to the region's dedication to tradition and meticulous winemaking. Here, winemakers carefully honor centuries-old practices while allowing the land to tell its unique story in each bottle, making Burgundy an enduring and magical destination for wine enthusiasts seeking transcendental experiences in the glass.
