The Details
Top wine for the twins -- parcellaire Chenin Blanc from very old vines (some <100 years-old) with a surface area of less than 1 hectare on the southern slope of the nearby commune Vernou-sur-Brenne. The wine is named after the white limestone (tuffeau) walls that are visible when you stand in the plot and look west toward the appellation's limits. Grapes are hand-harvested, directly pressed and spontaneously ferment in stainless steel. Aged for 12 months thereafter in barrique. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, minimal (<15ppm) added SO2 if necessary.
