The show-stopper of the lineup, perhaps the most sapid and broadest wine. Its fruit was on full show and perhaps this would achieve the most “points” if it sought that kind of thing though of course it doesn’t care; it’s just a lovely wine in a glass bottle. Clear, elegant Burgundy. From both the Goutte d’Or vineyard in the Hautes-Côtes and some fruit he tends with a friend down on the Côte d’Or proper (Savigny-les-Beaune), it is a real stunner composed of older vines, >65 years of age. A very moving wine.
