For the first time, a totally unique/bizarre/sublime take on Red Burgundy, his Pinot de Zinc, formerly just consumed by friends of Morgane & Christian's. It is a blend of all the fin de presse Pinots he makes meaning the bottom 5 or so percent of each barrel that would otherwise need to be filtered if included in the barrel's bottling; instead he blends off all of these into a separate barrel and tops it up with fresh juice over the course of an 18 month further élevage (this is a 2023). Rare, spectacular, light and fruity with a kind of dusty shadowy tannin that makes it feel a touch more framed yet also open and gastronomic - a beautiful contradiction of a wine.
