This is a remarkably unique and rare bottling from Hirotake Ooka of Domaine de La Grande Colline who works 3.8 hectares of vines throughout the Northern Rhône in southern France. Saint-Péray is a very small AOC in the southernmost reaches of the Northern Rhône Valley.
Vinification: 100% Marsanne from a 0.8 hectare vineyard site, the grapes are hand-harvested from 35 year-old vines planted in clay/limestone soil. Spontaneous fermentation is kickstarted by native yeasts in a combination of barrel and tank, where the juice is then aged: 12 months in barrel, and 12 months in tank. Unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2. 13% ABV
