The Details
EXTREMELY ALLOCATED - due to this, we are only selling 1 bottle per cuvée /customer.
This is a remarkably unique and rare bottling from Hirotake Ooka of Domaine de La Grande Colline who works 3.8 hectares of vines throughout the Northern Rhône in southern France. Cornas is a small and enormously venerated AOC in the Northern Rhône that produces only red wine from 100% Syrah.
Vinification: 100% Syrah from a .5 hectare vineyard site, the grapes are hand-harvested from 25 year-old vines atop granitic soil. Spontaneous fermentation is kickstarted by native yeasts in oak. The wine then ages for 24 months in oak barrels. Unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2.
