The Details

100% Cabernet Franc from very old vines for the area (75 years-old on average) split between the two main parcels for Guion the "Petits Monts" and "Gran Monts" toward the top of the slope above the village of Benais near Bourgeuil. Grapes are hand-harvested from organically cultivated vines planted to clay/turonian limestoin soils and spontaneously ferment and age in a combination of steel (40%), new 400L oak barrel (20%) and neutral barrel (20%) for 18 months prior to assemblage and resting for 2 months in stainless and bottled thereafter unfined, unfiltered, minimal added SO2.
