The Details
From Bruno Vacon who is among a very small number of growers working in a historic region of France, now nearly bereft of viticulture, called the Meuse which is comprised of a handful of hillside banks of the Meuse River in Lorraine, situated about halfway between Alsace and Champagne in Northern France.
This is Sylvaner from 12 year-old vines. Grapes are hand-harvested, whole-cluster maceration for 3-weeks followed by pressing. Spontaneous fermentation and maturation sur lie for 1 year in stainless steel. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2.
