The Details
L'Echappée Belle aka "The Great Escape" is 100% Chardonnay from vineyards planted by his grandparents in the village of Grauves in the Côte des Blancs. 70% base (vintage) wine and 30% reserve wine (begun in 2011). Grapes are hand-harvested from these biodynamically cultivated vines and directly pressed. Spontaneous fermentation and aging in a combination of neutral oak (25%) and stainless steel (75%). 18-24 month élevage on the fine lees. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2. Brut Nature.
