The Details
Mainly Rotburger (aka Zweigelt) with Merlot and Blaufrankisch from Burgenland, Austria. Spontaneous fermentation, stainless steel for maturation thereafter. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, minimal added SO2. 11.5%ABV
"Friends Dominik Gober and Gerald Freinbichler met in the cellar of Franz Weninger. Friends from the start, the pair were encouraged by their mentor to buy an old 1,000-square-foot garage winery, alongside a few hectares of blaufränkisch. This wine is a part of the Vineyard Project series, conceived by Stephen Bitterolf, the man behind Vom Boden wines — an importer and distributor with its heart clearly in Germany. Beginning in 2019, the Vineyard Project was a way to connect the greater community at large, by connecting overlooked vineyards with vignerons"
