This is a blend of skin-contact Pinot Gris and rosé of Pinot Noir from Amy and Ollie Hopkinson-Styles who work in the Hawkes Bay region of New Zealand.
Tasting: The wine exhibits the unique granular texture of the region’s gravel soils, and a ripeness that pleasantly elevated the tropicality of the Pinot Gris with the tart cherry of the Pinot Noir. This is a beach and pizza wine if there ever was one (we first tasted it on one with Amy and Ollie themselves) and a really special taste of what Kiwis can do.
Vinification: A blend like you've never had - macerated (i.e. "orange") Pinot Gris expression blended with a rosé expression of Pinot Noir from their Maraekakaho Hawkes Bay vineyard. After a very short maturation, the wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2.
