The Details
This is a very generous rosé with a perfume you'd expect more of Alsace than the Sud-Ouest - a very floral and finessed take on grapes known otherwise for their heft, chocolate, and peppery tannic character from Nadia Lusseau who tends 8.5 hectares in the Cotes de Duras just east of Bordeaux in France's Sud-Ouest.
Vinfiication: 50% Cab Sauv and 50% Cab Franc hand-harvested from avg. age 26 year-old vines grown in Clay mixed with limestone, sandy clay, & silex soils. The grapes are slowly, directly-pressed and co-ferment (spontaneous fermentation; ambient yeasts; no temp. control) before a very short élevage that lasts a few weeks before being bottled unfined, unfiltered, with minimal additional SO2. 12.5%ABV
