The Details
100% Riesling from 20-65 year-old vines in the heart of the Mosel Valley in western Germany from both the foot of the Batterieberg hill as well as a few other choice sites tended to by neighboring farmers who organically cultivate their fruit. Grapes are hand-harvested, directly pressed and the juice spontaneously ferments in stainless steel tank for a minimum of 9 months. Bottled unfined, coarsely filtered, and with minimal added SO2. 10.5%ABV
CAI stands for Carl August Immich, the original founder of the estate. This is the entry-level cuvée for the winery and is the only one bottled with screwcap in lieu of cork.
