The Details
Tête de Cuvée from Meyer - from the vaunted Grand Cru Muenchberg (which also produces the perennial shop favorite Riesling from Ostertag), known particularly for its volcanically-influenced soils. Biodynamically cultivated in sandy/puddingstone soils rich with tuff lava and volcanic ash, this is 100% old-vine Riesling. Grapes are hand-harvested, directly pressed, and spontaneously ferment in neutral barrel where the wine ages thereafter without topping up for several years. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2. 12.5%ABV
