Syrah, Grenache and Counoise on granite soils, picked separately (Syrah first, then Grenache/Counoise), with the latter two co-fermented and blended into the Syrah at pressing. Aged in stainless steel and small neutral barrel for 12 months. Named for one of Hank's favorite James Brown songs. Prunes, dried apricots and molasses on the nose. The palate is a touch drier, but still with dessicated fruit, black pepper and anise. Drink with a light chill and with smoky meats.
