100% Magliocco Tondo. "Chora Rosso" comes mainly from L'Acino's younger vines on sandy soils at the foot of Monte Pollino in northern Calabria near the Basilicata border (though there is some fruit from 50-60-year-old vines in there too). The farming is certified-organic and harvest is manual. The bunches are mainly destemmed and fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks without sulfur or temperature control. Maceration is around 10 days. The wine is aged in tank and bottled unfiltered. Zero sulfur. "Chora" is Greek for the Italian campagna or "countryside" (vignaiolo Dino Briglio is a historian by career and passion). Magliocco is native to Calabria--the tondo sub-variety is smaller-berried and -bunched, more resistant to drought and more vigorous compared to the canino sub-variety. 14%ABV
