The Details
Skin-contact wine from the southeasterly Hautes-Alpes on the border with lower western Piemonte. 100% organically cultivated Grenache Blanc from 30 year-old vines planted to clay-limestone/sandy marl soils in a vineyard in Lourmarin (fun-fact: Albert Camus is buried in the tiny cemetery of this hamlet) in the Luberon. Grapes are hand-harvested and macerate for 24 hours prior to a slow, manual pressing via vertical basket press. Spontaneous fermentation in fiberglass tank prior to racking to neutral barrel for 70% of the wine's volume and 30% remaining in fiberglass. 9 months' maturation sur lie prior to bottling unfined, unfiltered, minimal (10-15ppm) added SO2. 14% ABV
