The Details
This is an inimitable, elegant-as-can-be Chenin laden with frosted pear and ripe pome fruit whose nose is bright and refreshing in its herbaceous elements - juniper, mint, jasmine with . From Nadège Lelandais who works 4.5 hectares of vines in the Anjou, Loire Valley.
Vinification: Chenin Blanc with a tiny amount of Cabernet Franc hand-harvested from nearly 100 year-old vines in the triangular vineyard named 'La Pointe' planted atop clay/shale soils. Grapes are gently, directly pressed and undergo a slow spontaneous fermentation (ambient yeasts; no temp control) before a 12-18 month élevage. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2.
