The Details
This is a tropical orange wine from Martin Wörner of Marto who works in the village of Flonheim in Germany's famous Rheinheissen winemaking region.
Tasting Notes: An orange dynamo from the Rheinheissen -- the bouquet is gorgeous and enveloping: tropical fruit is sprinkled with a savory pome spice and finishes with a pretty and firm tannic grip that backlights the electricity thrumming this bottle to life.
Vinification: An old-vines blend of Müller-Thurgau and Riesling, hand-harvested the grapes are co-fermented in whole bunches. After fermentation, they are aged in large, old foudres. Unfined, unfiltered with no additional SO2.
