This is a rich and youthful wine from Jeff Coutelou who works 13 hectares of vines in the town of Puimisson which is located just north of Béziers in the Languedoc (southern France).
Tasting Notes: A very young, pleasantly acidic wine packed with dense and rich black fruits that fly to the fore, both on the nose and in the palate. Juicy yet deep -- this is a wine that will keep well for several years.
Vinification: A new cuvée from Jeff Coutelou! This year, Jeff made a field blend of innumerable varieties red, white, orange and grey to make an insanely addictive wine, one that probably will never exist again!
Jean François "Jeff" Coutelou cares for a good thirteen hectares, cultivated in as natural a manner as possible, on the edge of Puimisson (several kilometers away from Béziers.) Organic since 1987, this isn't a domaine motivated by trend or style. When we talk about Jeff, we're talking about a true blue farmer, and while he revels in a bit of debate, we well know that his terroir is his core.
Old, near extinct grape varieties are co-planted on his property, intricately trained and in tune with the various soil types. Jeff has created a vast polycultural environment, replanting trees and bands of ancient flowers and grains, rescuing insects and the rich microbial life of the soil. Jeff's team disregards nothing, for simply a love of the earth.
