The Details
From Burgenland, Austria, this is 54% Muskat Ottonel, 29% Sauvignon Blanc, 8% Chardonnay, 4% Gelber Muskateller, 5% Traminer from organically cultivated vines. Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified separately: Sauv Blanc & Chardonnay co-ferment for 14 days on the skins while Muskat Ottonel gets 3 days on the skins and Gelber is pressed after a few hours. All separately vinified but all in stainless steel. The Traminer gets the longest maceration, 20 days, on the skins in amphora. Élevage is all in neutral barrique for 1 year and the wines are blended in tank about a month before bottling unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2.
