The Details

Francesco & Nicoletta Ferreri work tiny plots of gnarly old vines on the island of Pantelleria, technically within the Province of Sicily though it is closer to Tunisia than it is any part of Italy. An epic place to make wines, this cuvée is composed of a red/white field blended co-ferment consisting of: Cataratto, Pignatello, Alicante, Uva Greca, and Inzolia. Bottled before the completion of its first, alcoholic fermentation, the wine ferments to dryness under crown-cap in the ancestral method. Unfined, unfiltered, no added SO2. A wine that one of their Italian distributors noted as "free and pure... [it] carries within it the sun of Pantelleria."
