This is a gentle, floral red from Nadia Verrua who works seven hectares of vines in Monferrato, Asti, Piedmont, Italy.
Tasting Notes: Fresh with notes of orange blossom, strawberries, and montmorency cherry, this is an unbelievably lovable red, with aromatics reminiscent of a Tavel rosé though the lightness of touch you’d find only in Grignolino. A unique bottle to savor.
Vinification: Named after her vigneron father, this cuvée is 100% Grignolino hand-harvested from several parcels with relatively old vines. Destemmed and gently-pressed whole-berry, spontaneous fermentation is kickstarted with only native yeasts and maceration lasts 2+ months in fiberglass tanks and is bottled unfined, unfiltered and with 2g/L SO2.
