The Details

From Colli Aprutini in Abruzzo, this is 100% Montepulciano from 30-50 year-old vines organically cultivated in the clay/limestone areas planted about 300m above sea level. Grapes are hand-harvested and partially vinified according to saignée (a "bled" rosé), partially directly pressed, and partially macerated for a short period of time prior to pressing. Spontaneous fermentation and aging occurs entirely in stainless steel. The wines are blended and rested for a short period of time prior to bottling unfined, unfiltered, minimal (<35ppm) added SO2. 14% ABV
