The Details
This is a gorgeous frizzante-style directly-pressed rosato of a recently re-discovered, ancient Lazio grape variety known as "Lecinaro" that only grows well at high-altitude. The original brains behind Palazzo Tronconi Marco Marrocco, who transitioned into a life of the vine after a career as a mechanical engineer and owner of an elevator company. Marco's hometown Arce in Lazio, Italy is where he now works his estate in collaboration with Gaetano Ciolfi (a professor of enology) and Carlo Noro (a leading european expert in biodynamic agriculture).
Vinification: 100% Lecinaro hand-harvested from young vines (7 years old) grown in limestone and clay soils on new hillside vineyard sites. Directly-pressed, the grapes spontaneously ferment over the course of 7 days with only ambient yeasts (no temp. control) in concrete tanks. Secondary fermentation occurs in bottle under crown-cap. Élevage is 12 months before being bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2.
