The Details
Brendan and Laura met in Piedmont and the region's wines have always acted as a key reference point for their wines. This Barbera/Nebbiolo blend (affectionately named for the canines who rummage for white gold in Piedmont) is from their younger vines grown on shale/blue slate soil. It might be the closest thing to a "sushi red" we've ever found. Distinctly herbal and amaro-like on the nose, with a Japanese-plum palate, rich with cardamom, anise and a refreshing umami finish. Unfined and unfiltered, with a small amount of SO2 at bottling.
