The Details
100% Blatterle from biodynamically cultivated vines in Alto-Adige. 1.5 hectares of the variety (rare and native to this area) are still in existence today, all of it within Bolzano. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and macerate for 2 weeks prior to pressing. Spontaneous fermentation and aging in stainless steel tank and then cement tank for up to 12 months. A further 12-20 months in bottle prior to release, depending on vintage. Unfined, unfiltered, minimal added SO2.
(Stylistically, it is a textural white rather than orange, despite the maceration)
