The Details

This wine from South Australia, made in a warm vintage, is described as utterly smashable. Alicia and Mark, the makers of this wine, have managed to avoid creating the classic big soupy Aussie wines of the past. They used whole bunches of grapes, which were jumped on and macerated for 4 days, and then topped up with some Pash Rash juice. The result is a fresh and bright wine with lively acidity, reminiscent of apple candy mixed with blueberry skin and a hint of tannins. Mark and Alicia are the kind of people you can never say no to a beer with. They have an infectious laughter and charm, and their authenticity is unquestionable. After gaining experience working with James Erskine of Jauma, they started their own project, sourcing organic grapes from Mount Compass and Mount Torrens to create light and lithe wines with a cheeky soul. These wines have zero additives and no funny business, except when it comes to enjoying them. The grapes are both direct pressed and fermented in whole bunches, and then blended. The wine is unfined, unfiltered, and has no sulfur added.
