This is a velvety, long, seductive rosé from Daniel and Pepi Ramos who work ~15 hectares of vines in the Alberche River Valley amongst the Gredos Mountains of Castilla y Léon in Central Spain.
Tasting Notes: An oxidative, warm apple cider moves into a complex wine of texture, ample body and an arrangement of currants, cinnamon, and tart-florality into the smooth romance of an early-aughts D'Angelo bassline.
Vinification: Practicing organic, this is a rosado of 100% Garnacha grapes hand-harvested from vines that range from 50-100 years-old grown in decomposed granitic sand and schist/slate composite. Spontaneous fermentation is kickstarted with only native yeasts in concrete tanks where the grapes also undergo a slow maceration. Once the juice has fully fermented, it is transferred to old American Barriques where it will age on its lees for at least five months, spending some more time thereafter still in barrique before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2. 14%ABV
