The Details
In the words of their importer Selectionaturel, "The 'Dinamo' project is an exciting nod to the historic peasant wines of Umbria." Indeed, there is something very old-school and winsome in their packaging and presentation let alone the farming, vision, and literal juice that's become the wine itself -- as liter bottlings with crown-capped tops in what seems an old soda container and a note of the wine's (no matter the cuvée) low ABV, the emphasis is on straightforward, easy-drinking wines to accompany local foods. Working in Umbria, the heart of Italy in a way as it is the only land-locked province of the peninsula, Dinamo is a collaboration between Danilo, Rachele, & Simone Nofrini and the well-renowned winemaker/winemaking consultant Danilo Marcucci who happens to be their neighbor. Working at around 500m elevation near the Apennine peak known as Colle Castelluccio and Lake Trasimeno, the grape varieties here are Trebbiano Toscano & d'Abruzzo, Sangiovese, and the local oddity that is the (mis-named) Gamay del Trasimeno (a form of Grenache, confusingly). Zero/zero wines that are always somehow precise and clean as a whistle.
