This is a bright and complex macerated wine from Domaine Henri Milan whose estate is comprised of ~10 hectares outside the picturesque Provençal village St.-Rémy-de-Provence, in southern France.
Tasting Notes: Fresh meadow scrub and orange blossom on the nose moves into an equally refreshing palate whose easing acidity and pillowy tannins bespeak a wine that is balanced, delicious, and distinctly orange with little to no astringency.
Vinification: A blend of Vermentino (the principal grape in the batch), Chardonnay, Roussanne, and Muscat hand-harvested from vines grown in Clay and Limestone soils. The grapes are pressed with the skins in contact with the juice that begins spontaneous fermentation thanks only to native yeasts. Maceration lasts for 20 days in a concrete tank. The juice is then transferred to a fiberglass tank where it ages for one year. Unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2.
