The Details

Riesling / Pinot Gris from 35 year-old vines biodynamically cultivated in Alsace. Grapes are whole-bunch, directly pressed into neutral oak foudre. Spontaneous fermentation and élevage of 12-15 months thereafter sur lie. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, no additional SO2.

About Alsace

Wines from Alsace, nestled in the northeastern corner of France along the Rhine River, offer a captivating and distinctive vinous journey. Renowned for their purity, varietal expression, and exceptional terroir, Alsace wines are celebrated for their clarity and consistency. The region's unique microclimate, sheltered by the Vosges Mountains, allows for the cultivation of a remarkable array of grape varieties, with Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris standing as emblematic stars. These wines, often bottled in tall, slender vessels known as flûtes, enchant the palate with their vibrant acidity, aromatic complexity, and the ability to beautifully reflect the terroir in which they are grown. From the bone-dry and mineral-driven Rieslings to the opulent and spicy Gewürztraminers, Alsace wines offer an enchanting glimpse into the artistry of winemaking, making them a treasured gem in the world of fine wine.
