The Details
Les Rocheforts aka "The Strong rocks" is 100% Chardonnay from vines that his grandparents planted in a single, premier cru vineyard in Bisseuil. This is 75% base (vintage) wine & 25% perpetual reserve (started in 2012). Grapes are hand-harvested from these vines planted to fairly purely chalky soils. Direct pressing, spontaneous fermentation happens in neutral oak and stainless steel (50/50) prior to élevage on the fine lees for 18-24 months. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, minimal added SO2. Brut Nature.
