Auvergne. 100% Gamay d'Auvergne from 30 year old vines. Grapes are hand-harvested, half destemmed and half left whole cluster. The fruit undergoes a semi-carbonic maceration and ferments with wild yeasts in tank, followed by a resting period in old barrel. Unfined, unfiltered, no SO2.
From the importer, Louis Dressner: "30+ year old Gamay vines planted on Feldspar rich white sand. Located in the Madargues Cru, which in the past had a reputation for producing Auvergne's best wines. La Plage translates to the beach in French and is a reference to the notably sandy soils of the vineyard."
